About CommuteGo

CommuteGo is a ride-sharing app designed to promote carpooling while helping people connect with others in their community. The goal is to reduce traffic, lower carbon emissions, and offer a more affordable way to get around by making it easy for people to share rides with others nearby.

Roles and Responsibilities :

UX & UI Design

Project Overview

CommuteGO is a mobile application that combines ride-sharing and package delivery services to provide a more efficient, seamless experience for busy professionals and small business owners. In this project, as the lead UX Designer, my goal was to address the conflicting needs of users who struggled with managing multiple, fragmented platforms for both commuting and sending packages. The challenge was to build a solution that integrates these services into one streamlined app, making life easier and more productive for users.

Challenges & Problem Statement

Ensuring accurate and timely location updates for riders and drivers.

Real-time Location Tracking

Handling increased demand, especially during peak times.

Scalability

Protecting user data, including personal information and payment details.

Goals

1

Unified User Experience: Merge ride-sharing and package delivery into a single, intuitive app interface.

2

Optimized Driver Utilization: Allow drivers to perform both tasks simultaneously or separately, depending on their preference.

3

Seamless Transition Between Services: Enable users to switch between booking a ride and sending a package without confusion.

4

Safety and Transparency: Implement security features for both riders and package senders, ensuring trust and reliability.

Inferences

There was a clear market gap for an app that integrated both commuting and small-scale deliveries in a seamless, intuitive way.

Users wanted more efficiency and control over their transportation and delivery needs, but no single service provided both.

Real-time tracking and route optimization were features users highly valued but rarely found combined across platforms.
